English Cocker Spaniel Field Trial Hall of Fame Committee Meeting

May 5, 2021 – 7:00 pm CST (Conference Call)

In attendance were:  Bethann Wiley, John Bishop, Sheryl Mayo, Robin Putnam, Terry Oliver

New Business

 

            **Welcome Tom Calabrese, Tawney Crawford and Barbara Defalco to the committee! Thank you to Keith Meissner, Sheryl Mayo and Bethann Wiley for serving for the past several years.

 

  1. Update on Induction

 

The Board of Directors has moved the induction ceremony to June 12th. Hob Brown will be in attendance for Cassie. Tawney Crawford is unable to attend as well as the two inductees from the early era. No one on the committee is able to present on this date so Bethann will contact Steve Beyer from the Springers to see if he will do the honors for us.

 

  1. Website

 

Wendy Haney, who created and has been doing the updates on our website, is getting out of the website business.  She referred us to Haley Gray who is a professional web designer.  Bethann talked to her to get some initial information before the committee decides what to do.  Here are her points:

  1. The platform our site is on needs to be changed do to required updates. She suggests WordPress or Wix which are web based so a committee could do the updates instead of paying them. (although they would do it for a fee)
  2. If we moved the site as is to the new platform it would cost about $3500 – $4000. If we trimmed it down it could be between $1500 – $2500.

 

Tom said he would also speak to a couple people he knew about possible options.

 

In the meantime, committee members are to go to the current site and look at what they think must be on our new site and what could possibly go away.  The committee will communicate via email about this in the next couple of weeks.

 

  1. New Committee – Chairperson?

 

This will be discussed via email since several members were absent.

 

 

 

Old Business

 

 

  1. Wall of Champions fundraiser https://www.englishcockerhalloffame.com/home/index.php/fund-raising/activities

 

We currently have $10,441.65 in our designated fund account with the ECSCA.  We spend between $500 – $1000 a year for the induction ceremony and about $200 for website updates.

 

Bethann will get the Wall of Champion fundraiser publicized when we get the new website figured out.  Currently people are able to donate through the ECSCA website and information is still on the current Hall of Fame website.

 

Bethann mentioned that if people donate to the Bird Dog Foundation that money is shared by everyone at the museum. If people donate directly to us we can use that for future inductions and any other needs that we have.
