ECSFTHFC Meeting

In attendance were: Peter Rizzo, Kate Romanski, Hobson Brown, Barbara Haupt, Rob Cotiaux, Keith Meissner, AR Ginn and Larry Hansen.

AGENDA

***Approval of Septebmer minutes

Robb Cotiaux made motion to approve the September minutes and Pete Rizzo seconded. All approved.

*** Treasurer’s Report

The treasury had a small expense for mailing costs on the election of regional representatives for this committee.

Discussion will continue regarding the 501c3 status of the Bird Dog Foundation and our going through them to receive tax deductible funding for our wing. As it stands now the funds cannot be earmarked for a specific breed; it all goes to the foundation to use as they see fit. We know we have lost donations for our display because of this. Hopefully a compromise can be reached that will satisfy all parties.

As far as support from the ASC, we have not heard to date. Regarding the Wall of Champions, we do have a commitment for those ACS (American cockers) who achieved FC status before the trials came to a halt in the 60’s. We also have a Wall of Champions commitment for those early ECS who achieved FC status.

We do not know what the balance is on the cabinet John Leininger he is building for our exhibit.

Terry tells us the students will have the display completed in December: cost $1760. It will be installed prior to the induction ceremony in February.

*** ELECTION RESULTS FOR ECSFTHF COMMITTEE REGIONAL POSITIONS

AR Ginn – South, Larry Hansen – Central, Tom Ness – West, Sheryl Mayo – East. 

*** DISCUSSION OF HOF NOMINATIONS – INDIVIDUALS

The five nominees were discussed individually and a vote was taken.  Two individuals were approved unanimously.

*** DISCUSSION OF HOF NOMINATIONS – DOGS

The seven dog nominees were discussed extensively and a vote was taken. Two dogs were chosen unanimously. The members agreed it is extremely difficult making these decisions when there are so many worthy candidates. Thankfully, they will be carried into next year.

NEW BUSINESS

*** The names of the elected inductees will be announced at the 2014 NCC Banquet.

*** A motion was made and passed that nominees who receive no votes after three years be dropped from the list.

*** Barbara will make copies of the Wall of Champions form and they will be available at the 2014 NCC.

*** ADJOURNMENT AND DATE OF NEXT MEETING

 The meeting concluded at 9:15 p.m. EDT.  The next meeting will be held November 11th at 8 p.m. EST.
