- Review voting process on nominees and vote
Per the By-laws, up to two people and two dogs can be voted in each year. It was discussed that we will continue using a roll-call vote for each nominee. It was agreed that this helped with discussion and understanding throughout the process. There were three dog nominations, all were carry-overs from previous years and two individual nominations, one new and one carry-over.
Move to Executive Session for discussion and vote on the nominees.
Report from the Executive Session – one individual and one dog were voted in as 2019 inductees to the English Cocker Spaniel Field Trial Hall of Fame. They will be notified next week. It was agreed that the public announcement will be posted on Fieldcockers.com and the email discussion list after the completion of the NCC. Bethann talked with Steve Beyer, the ESS Hall of Fame committee Chairperson, and they use a similar way of making the announcement on the ESSFT.com site. They have been doing it this way for a while and feel it works well. We have been doing it for the past two years and also feel it works well.
- Brainstorm possible individuals to fill open 2020 committee positions
The committee would like to thank Robb Cotiaux for all his years of service to the Hall of Fame. His second term will end this year. Through discussion several names were brought up that all felt would be good committee members. Bethann will talk with them after the NCC and update the current committee through email. If necessary, a phone meeting can be called to further the discussion.
*A notice about the open seat will also be made on the Fieldcockers email discussion list to solicit interest in the open position. Per the by-laws, if more than one person is nominated an election will be held
