Mr. A.R. Ginn Jr.

A.R. is known as a great sportsman and a fierce competitor. Of equal importance, he is known to always be polite to everyone and to help whenever and wherever he can. This includes not only the spaniel world but also in his 48 years in the metal construction business. A.R. began importing talented English Cockers in the mid 1990’s and was an integral part of the resurgence of cocker field trials. These dogs are now in pedigrees throughout the United States. He joined the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America in 2003 and went on to form the Waller Sporting Spaniel Club in Texas. He and his wife, Ollie, have graciously hosted many field trials on their ranch and supported field trials across the country through their hard work during the trials, supported entries and also with outside support such as transporting dogs across the country along with many other generous acts. A.R. has contributed significant philanthropic support for cocker field trials by repeatedly being the Gun Team sponsor for the National Cocker Championship and by being a Gold Patron among other gifts. In 2014, A.R. was recognized by his peers with the Harold S. Bixby Service Award for his significant contributions to the sport.

A.R. has also been a very successful handler of English Cockers in field trials. He has contributed as the owner and handler to many placements in both the Open All- Age and Amateur All- age stakes. He was the handler of NFC FC AFC Chyknell Red Kite, “Midge” and won the 2006 National Cocker Championship. A.R. was also the High-Point Amateur Handler in the United States in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Besides his work with the dogs, A.R. has served on several committees to advance the sport of field trials and English Cockers. He was a committee member on the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America Field Trial Committee and a founding member on the English Cocker Spaniel Field Trial Hall of Fame Committee. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Bird Dog Foundation. His dedication to help others has been observed here as well as he has assisted with several important projects for this building.

A.R. has always given freely of himself on behalf of the Cockers – a true gentleman of the sport!
